Based on a 50-year concession contract, Karidja aims at restoring one of the largest classified forests of Côte d’Ivoire, in the Haut-Sassandra Region. Beyond its climatic impact (70,000 hectares of reforestation generating 30 Mt of high-quality removal VCUs), Karidja relies on two other pillars of equal importance : People and Biodiversity. The project has a strong social plan and a large agroforestry part (34,000 ha) to empower local communities and create jobs. It also notably includes the use of 16 different tree species to ensure a high impact on biodiversity.
